Artist's Comments

This negative scan was very crudely cleaned up, but then again everything about this photo is crude. I find it funny.

Thank you :)

I know for a fact that these people are crazy, and I think this photo conveys that fairly well

i don't know why i didn't fav this before. this is one of those images that has stuck with me. i just watched the movie Pecker last night (had seen it once years ago). have you seen it? it's about a kid who takes photos of his family and neighbors, but they're all really interesting characters. this photo reminds me of that. i wish i knew more interesting characters like these. they make great subjects! (really. i'm jealous!) :)

I have that movie, and I really like it! It's a great compliment that my photo reminds you of it as those are the types of pictures I would like to take, and because I love John Waters movies .

It's the characters I haven't captured because of my timidity which keep me up at night. If ever I grow a backbone I'll have a lot more to show you.

Thank you so much for the fav. And I don't just say this because you've been so nice, but your gallery is easily one of the most inspirational for me on dA.

:) you're welcome. i don't know how to thank you for saying my work inspires you... i'm happy and honored that it does. :)

I'll have to agree that there is character in these faces. I also wish I had the nerve or audacity to take pictures of strangers.

I'm glad I was able to capture the character in their faces, because they have just as much in their personalities. These two are distant relatives (by marriage) of mine, but I've known them since I was a kid. I'm like you, I wish that I had the nerve or audacity to photograph strangers!
